Socks, socks, socks

Yesterday afternoon, I realized that I was going to run out of yarn for my husband's sweater, so I ordered a couple more skeins. This gave me an excuse to step away from the sweater and do something with yarn that has been "burning a hole" in my knitting stash. I bought some Artyarns Supermerino before Christmas with the plan to use it for fingerless gloves. I changed my mind and started a pair of socks. This yarn is listed on the Artyarns website as worsted weight, but I believe it is DK weight. At any rate, I had found a pattern online in the June 2006 issue (http://www.knitnet.com/) called Orchard socks designed by Wendy Mortimer. I am knitting these socks on (US 5) double points. Here's the picture from the website.

Oh no! I can't believe your had to order more yarn. So close and yet so far! The socks are great, though. Thank goodness for the stash yarn!
