Where did the summer go???

Stitch and Pitch
And I finished a sweater for Daniel. His first birthday is in August...another one I'll miss.
And last, but not least, I knit my very first lacy scarf. I suppose I was intimidated by the shawl - it's so big; so I took a smaller step and knit the scarf. I fell in love with the pattern a couple years ago, but didn't think I had the skills needed to knit it...silly me! One of the things I should have learned about knitting at this point is to fear nothing...just take the first step and cast on. The rest will come...and it did! Those last two sentences are pretty profound (if I may say so myself) - don't they apply to most things in life?!

Where I've Been
When I finished the blanket, I launched into a sweater,
booties,
and a hat.
The baby, a boy named Luke Alexander, was born on March 8! He is a healthy, happy, growing little boy! I am so happy for everyone! Of course, other projects are already being planned for little Luke.
In the meantime, another couple had a baby and I knit a sweater for their baby

Story and Updates
This past weekend was productive...I finished two projects in my bag. The first was the second sock of a pair for Danny (a friend's son). The socks were knit with the left over yarn a pair of monkey socks that I am in the midst of knitting.

Overdue Post
The next project I finished were my jaywalker socks. And now that one pair is complete, I just had to cast on another pair. Last week I purchased some Soxx Appeal by Knit One Crochet Too. It is 96% superwash merino, 3% nylon and 1% elastic - it's smooshy much like Fixation by Cascade. I've cast on the Embossed Leaves pattern from the Favorite Socks book by Interweave Knits.
I am also working on the second of the Mad Color Weave Socks, although I haven't gotten very far on it.

Back to sweater
Wednesday, August 22, 2007
Having finished the first one, I cast one the second and knit the cuff. I'm ready to launch into the pattern again.
I also did some work on my Jaywalker. That one has the heal flap done and I'm ready to pick up stitches and start the gusset.
I added to my stash due to a sale on Interlacements Tiny Toes at Simply Socks Yarn Co. - yarn for 3 more pairs of socks! I must admit, I have difficulty passing up sock yarns on sale...
